When I buy a membership, when can I begin using it?
Your membership begins when your payment has been processed. If purchased at the Omni Theater Ticket Office or National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, your membership is immediately in our system. You will be given a temporary membership card from our Ticket Office staff and your permanent card will arrive from Membership in 2 -3 weeks. Memberships purchased online are also in our system immediately.
If you purchase your membership by phone using a credit card payment, your membership will be in our system within 72 hours. If you purchase by fax or mail, your membership will be in our system within 72 hours of receipt of payment.
Your membership cards will be mailed to you in 23 weeks. Once you are in our system and until your cards arrive, you can show your photo ID at the Omni Ticket Office or National Cowgirl Museum concierge desk to access your membership benefits.
Can I add an additional member to my membership?
Yes, you may add up to three (3) additional members to either Family membership. Fees for each additional member are: * Family Discovery - $15 each additional person * Family Discovery MAX - $35 each additional person
For each additional person you add to a Family Discovery MAX membership you will receive three (3) additional MAX Omni passes. Additional members may not be added to a Dual membership.
Am I able to add a caregiver/nanny/grandparent’s card to my membership?
Yes, for $15 at the Family Discovery level or $35 at the Family Discovery MAX level you can add a “caregiver” card for an individual who will have use of your membership benefits to bring your children to the Museum. The caregiver card is not valid for the caregiver to visit alone; they must show their card and a valid ID at the Ticket Office.
You may add up a total of three additional members or caregivers to a family membership.
I am an existing PLUS member. Will my Omni benefits change?
We are no longer offering the Family Discovery Plus or Dual Discovery Plus memberships. However, ALL current members at the Plus level will continue to receive their Plus benefits throughout the life of the membership. So if you’re a current Plus member, you’ll still receive unlimited Omni admission until your membership expires. At that time, you’ll have the option to renew in the new program.
Can my child use our membership when her class takes a field trip to the Museum? Can I use it for my ticket to the exhibits, and/or Omni Theater if I am chaperoning the field trip?
No, memberships are not valid for group or school visits.
How do I know when my membership expires and will I get a renewal notice?
The expiration date of your membership is printed on your membership card. The Membership Department will send you a renewal reminder 1 - 2 months prior to your expiration date.
Can I purchase a membership as a gift for someone else?

How many cards will I receive?
Each membership receives two (2) cards per household. Both cardholders must reside at the same address. Cards are issued in adults’ names only. However, both card holders may not use their cards at the same time. Tickets and discounts are limited per day to the number of persons on the membership. It takes about 2 to 3 weeks to receive your membership cards. If you have not received them within this time period, please contact us. Replacement cards for lost cards are $5. Can I use my membership without my membership cards?
All visiting members must present a Membership card and a valid photo identification card at the Ticket Office. If you have misplaced or forgotten your membership card, we will offer look you up once in our Member database to confirm membership status. However, without your card and valid ID, we cannot insure your membership benefits will be honored.
What if I lose my membership cards?
If you have lost your cards, call us at 817-255-9404 or e-mail membership@fwmsh.org. There is a $5 charge for replacement cards.
What if I have a change of address, phone number or e-mail address?
To avoid interruption of your membership correspondence, please update your contact information by e-mailing membership@fwmsh.org, calling 817-255-9404.
What is ASTC or is my membership good at other museums?
ASTC stands for Association of Science Technology Centers. Fort Worth Museum of Science and History members can visit museum that are members of ASTC and receive free admission through the ASTC reciprocal program. Some restrictions apply.
Free admission may be limited for some museums. For a list of ASTC museums and details, refer to the ASTC Passport Program List you received with your membership cards, view a current ASTC Passport Program List - PDF on our Web site, or request a printed list by calling 817-255-9404. Members at the $100 level and higher also receive free admission to more than 130 Children's Museums across the country through the Association of Children's Museums reciprocal programs. It is strongly encouraged that you contact other museums before visiting to verify admission policies and museum hours of operation.
Special exhibits or theater admission are generally not included in the free admission.
Can I obtain my exhibit and Omni admission in advance? Are member tickets available online?
You may purchase advance member exhibit and Omni tickets by phone (817-255-9540) or in person. There is no service fee for members purchasing advance tickets by phone. You will be asked to show your Membership card and a valid ID when you pick up your tickets at Will Call. At this time, free or discounted member tickets for MOST programs are not available online.
How do I get my free MAX Omni passes?
Each Discovery MAX membership comes with a set number of complimentary passes. These passes will be issued at the Ticket Office upon your first visit. They ARE NOT included with your Membership card. You will be asked to show your Membership card and a valid ID and must sign to receive your passes. This is to protect you from the passes being claimed by someone other than you.
What happens if my MAX Omni passes are lost or stolen?
Once you have claimed your MAX Omni passes, we are unable to replace them should they become lost or stolen.
Can I redeem my MAX Omni passes online?
Passes may only be redeemed in person at the Omni Ticket Office or by phone. If you redeem passes over the phone, you MUST provide your passes and valid ID at Will Call or you will be charged for those tickets.
Can I give my MAX Omni passes to friends or others?
Your passes are tied to your Membership number and are designed to be used by you and those covered under your membership or you and your guests. You will be asked to show your Membership card and valid ID when redeeming your passes. MAX Omni passes may not be resold.
Are MAX Omni passes valid for extended-length special engagement IMAX films?
No, unless specifically stated, the Omni passes that accompany the MAX memberships are valid only for the standard 1-hr. IMAX documentaries. All members receive a discount off extended-length special engagement films.
Can I use my MAX Omni passes all at one time?
While discount benefits are limited per day to the number of persons on your membership, you may use as many MAX Omni passes as you desire at one time. Redeem them all for one particular film or show time, or spread them out for various films throughout the year. This gives you the flexibility to see the films you are most interested in. MAX Omni passes are valid for one year from the date of your membership.
Are my Omni benefits valid at other museums?
Discovery MAX membership does not provide free admission or discounts to other IMAX or giant-screen theaters. Some participating ASTC museums may offer a member discount on tickets; it is best to inquire about their admission policies before visiting.
Is my membership good at other museums in the Metroplex?
Science centers located in the same market area (within 90 miles of each other) are excluded from the program. However, thanks to a special agreement, members of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History at the Family Discovery MAX level or higher receive reciprocal admission to the Museum of Nature & Science in Dallas’ Fair Park.
Additionally, all membership levels receive free admission to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame where some Museum of Science and History exhibits are located during construction.
Can I bring friends or relatives on my membership?
Yes, as long as one of the cardholders is present, you may bring any family members, friends or guests, up to the number of persons listed on your membership. Exhibit admission and Omni discounts are limited per day to the number of persons on the membership. You will be charged the regular admission rate for any tickets over and above the number of persons on your membership.
Can I bring additional guests to member events and previews?
Your invitation for each specific event will list any restrictions or if additional guests are allowed. Member events are often restricted to the number of persons on your membership.
